EPW proudly presents ORIGIN March 3

Explosive Pro Wrestling kicks off 2012 with ORIGIN. March 3rd will see EPW invade the Cyril Jackson Rec Centre for what is set to be a night on non stop pro wrestling action.

With two EPW legends hanging up the boots in late 2011, this year will see the new generation come to the fore as they all compete for the top spot in Explosive Pro Wrestling.

Already signed to appear at the show are former EPW champions; the 'Golden Greek' Marcius Pitt and Richter. Also confirmed is the winner of the 2011 Invitational Tournament, Chris Vice and the EPW tag team champions, AZ Vegara and Jay Taylor.

We will also hear from the Head of the EPW Board of Directors, Brett Corvus, who is promising to clear up the situation surrounding the seemingly vacant EPW Championship.

The full card and ticketing information will be available in the coming weeks, but for now, keep the date free to ensure that you don't miss out on the first Explosive Pro Wrestling show for 2012.

Top 10 to watch in NWA Pro/EPW in 2011 – Part II

In part one, we took a look at Brett Foxx, Jay Taylor, Chase Griffin, Chris Vice and Tyler Jacobs. Now we look at the five hottest rising stars in EPW today.

#5 - Sebastian Sander
Now the fact that Sander is not #1 in this list may cause some debate. But there is a good reason for him not placing higher. Sebastian Sander is a main event level star RIGHT NOW. For the past 12 months, this man has led his team into battle against the Blackest Hour. He took the fight to Richter, time and time again, with no fear in his eyes. At Re-Awakening he stepped into the ring with three of the best wrestlers in this country and was clearly the most dominant force in the match. Not only that, but he scored a pinfall victory over experienced veteran Rocky Menero. Sebastian Sander is the real deal and 2011 WILL see him recognized as the top level superstar that he is.

#4 - Carlo Cannon
As a former EPW tag team champion, Carlo has been severely underestimated as a force in the singles ranks for most of his career. Everywhere Carlo has travelled, he has been known in concert with his tag team partner, Slex. For years, Slex has been considered one of the very best in Australia while Carlo has lived in his shadow. But 2010 saw a far more serious Carlo as he took Davis Storm to the limit in April before scoring a huge win over former EPW champion, Bobby Marshall in September. Cannon is ready to take aim at the very best in 2011 and finally establish his name once and for all.

#3 - Kiel Steria
Another man who has constantly lived in the shadow of his tag team partner, Kiel Steria returned from Los Angeles with a new attitude in 2010. With his new agent, William Darcy, leading the charge, Steria went from career underachiever to the finals of the Invitational Tournament in twelve short months. While he never lacked the ability, Kiel now has the confidence to become a top line player in EPW. With Darcy and Hayden Zenith in his corner, the man known as ‘Hollywood’ will be a tough customer for anyone who encounters him this year.

#2 - AZ Vegara
In a recent poll, the wrestlers of EPW voted Shane Haste as the best wrestler in their ranks. In April of this year, AZ Vegara managed to score the biggest win of his career in defeating Shane Haste. From early 2010, this seemed like it would be the year that Vegara finally become a main event player. But with his regular tag team partner, Damian Slater, unavailable for the second half of the year, AZ lost focus and the year slipped away. He is now focused and ready to live up to the hype that has surrounded him for so long. AZ Vegara could be considered as the single most talented wrestler to never wear a championship in EPW. I would be shocked if we can say the same thing in a year’s time.

#1 - Marcus Pitt
From day one, Pitt had all the tools required to make it in EPW. With a physique and work ethic that was second to none, he set about making a name for himself by any means necessary. As a longtime member of the European Union, Marcus was employed as the muscle of the team but was often left as the lamb to the slaughter as Jonathon Wimbledon’s plans went awry. Since breaking away from the Union, his climb up the EPW ladder has been steady but unspectacular. In mid 2010, Marcus made the commitment that he would never again let an opportunity slip through his grasp. He beat the odds to defeat Chris Vice, Elliot Sexton, Kiel Steria and Carlo Cannon and become the Invitational Tournament winner for 2010. He has now etched his name alongside Jimmy Payne, Davis Storm, Shane Haste, Richter and Tyler Jacobs. He now wants the same thing that those five men have had that he has not. The EPW championship. With more than four years experience under his belt now, Pitt is ready to become the superstar that he always threatened to be. 2011 could be the year that Marcus Pitt truly becomes the ‘Golden Greek’.

NWA EPW recaps Re-Awakening 8

It was the biggest night in EPW history when Explosive Pro Wrestling delivered RE-AWAKENING 8 at the Craigie Leisire. Lukey Bolland takes a look at the many highlights that took place at the show. We saw the night get off to a great start when four of EPW's tag teams met in a number one contenders match for the tag team championships. Jimmy Payne's undefeated streak is finally no more as Nate Dooley made his return to EPW by attacking his former team mate which allowed AZ Vegara to pick a huge win. KrackerJak's hardcore battle royale was next on the card and it did not disappoint! Weapons were used, even a fit ball made an appearance at RE-AWAKENING but it was Gavin McGavin who surprisingly picked up the win. Jamie Jurah was disqualified just minutes into the match against Devlin Reeves. The Invitational Final was decided in fine style as Davis Storm picked up a big win over Damian Slater, JT and Tyler Jacobs. The EPW Championship was on the line in a brutal Last Man Standing match between Richter and Bobby Marshall. This match went all over the building and was not short of highlights, brutal highlights and lots of blood. Gavin Miller and Brad West settled their dispute as Ferguson Block took on Sebastian Sander in a special stipulation match. As Ferguson Block won the match, Brad West has now been fired from Explosive Pro Wrestling! Finally, it was six months in the making with state pride on the line, it was WA vs VICTORIA and it was for the EPW Tag Team Championships as Carlo Cannon and Slex defended their belts against two of EPW's finest in Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls in a ladder match! By the end of the match all four men had given it their all and Nicholls and Haste had done WA proud as they brought the EPW Tag Team Champions back to Perth where they belong! Thanks to everyone who attended RE-AWAKENING 8!

NWA Explosive Pro Wrestling Gives Back

The world of professional wrestling is considered a cut-throat business filled with sleaze. When wrestling does get publicity, it is typically for all the wrong reasons. All to often we hear of drug overdoes, criminal activities, and death. The NWA is known for its charitable contributions. ECCW helped out with the 24 Hour Wrestling show to fill the empty food banks. NWA Mid-Atlantic has been giving back to the families of Fire Fighters and Police men and women.

Explosive Pro Wrestling was able to give $2348.35 to Telethon. Telethon is a registered childrens charitable trust dedicated to raising funds to improve the lives of children and young people throughout Western Australia. They improve lives by investing in medical treatment and research for children who are sick.

The Results from Charity are:

Jay Taylor and Davis Storm defeated Team Allstar

Tyler Jacobs defeated Alex Kingston

Garry Schmidt defeated Gavin McGavin

Jimmy Payne defeated AZ Vegara and Jamie Jurah

Mikey Nicholls defeated Devlin Reeves

Chase Griffin and Dan Moore defeated Chris Vice and Jonny Wimbledon

Bobby Marshall defeated Sebastian Sander

Mikey Nicholls won the 2009 EPW Charity Rumble

Kudos to all the Wrestlers and Explosive Pro Wrestling for this great cause.
