NWA Charlotte on 3/28 in Charlotte, NC featuring Abdullah the Butcher

(Charlotte, NC) NWA Charlotte announced today that professional legend and icon “The Madman of Sudan” Abdullah the Butcher and Flair Family icon David Flair will join the NWA Charlotte show at 8:00pm on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at NWA Coliseum.

“Abdullah has not been in our area for many years,” said NWA Charlotte President JD Costello. “This will be one of the final opportunities to see this famous wrestling superstar in person in our area.”

Abdullah is being brought in to wrestle his choice of NWA Charlotte’s top bad guys. “I have been having issues controlling many of our wrestlers who think they are bigger and meaner than the others,” added Costello. “The Butcher was the only wrestler who I could think of who could come in and set them straight to get us back on track.”

Abdullah will be making an early autograph signing and photo opportunity appearance at 6:00pm on March 28 before the show at NWA Coliseum. Special VIP tickets are available with pricing and details on the NWA Charlotte website at www.NWAcharlotte.com.

David Flair has continued the Flair Family tradition of dominating professional wrestling headlines and television shows. “We needed David Flair to tag team with long-time family friend Brad Anderson, son of Gene Anderson,” added Costello. “Flair and Anderson will be teaming up to face current Mid-Atlantic Heritage Champion Jeff Lewis and his special mystery guest for a shot at the title.”

Flair will join Abdullah at the early autograph signing and photo opportunity appearance to meet and greet fans beginning at 6:00pm at NWA Coliseum on March 28.

“There is a real magic in the shows that we have been putting together so far this year,” said Costello. “We knew that Charlotte would like to see the NWA wrestling, coupled with the spirit of the old Jim Crockett Promotions, back in town again.”

NWA wrestling icon Jim Cornette makes an appearance on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at NWA Charlotte to assist in the naming of promotion’s first U. S. World Heavyweight Champion that night. “Mr. Cornette is my personal mentor as he got me started in professional wrestling back in the 1980’s and he helped me put together JD Costello and the MOD Squad,” added Costello. “He is the best manager in the business and has an incredible mind for building successful professional wrestling franchises.”

NWA Charlotte runs shows on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Complete details can be found on the website at www.NWACharlotte.com.
