The Real American Heroes Explode |
On July 8th 2007, The Real American Heroes defeated Billy Kidman & Sean Waltman and later Incognito & Sicodelico Jr., to win the Vacant NWA World Tag Team Championships. The duo of 'The Machine Gun" and "Magnum" took the NWA by storm. Their controversial anti-immigrant rhetoric caused riots all through out the country. Anderson and Ryan were the first Tag Team to win the championship since the NWA and TNA ended it's relationship. Shortly after losing the belts to their chief rivals Los Luchas, Karl Anderson would make his way to Japan to compete in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Joey would continue to work various promotions in the United States along with NWA Hollywood, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and Ring of Honor.
Anderson's success in Japan would see him add a tag team partner in Giant Bernard and for several years they would dominate the tag team division in Japan. In early 2012, Joey Ryan would also garner international fame working for Ring Ka King teaming with Nunzio aka Little Guido.
Last year at the Mach-1 Hall of Fame Cup, both Joey Ryan and Karl Anderson would both participate, it would be the first time the duo would be in an NWA ring together since they lost the titles. At the peak of their physical conditioning the duo put on, one hell of a fight. Anderson would go on to defeat his former partner, but would lose in the finals of the Cup to Rocky Romero. Here's to you... you real American heroes!
