Roughly this time last year, JD Costello and Jay Joyce announced their plans to run with the NWA in Charlotte. Not without controversies, NWA Charlotte was able to put together a series of shows. Featuring the talents of NWA National Champion: Phil Shatter, NWA Anarchy's Mikal Judas and Truitt Fields, NWA Women Champion: MsChif, legends from the Mid-Atlantic, former NWA World Champion: Raven, and an up-incomer in Ryan O'Riley. NWA Charlotte produced a weekly television show that is still available at NWA Unleashed. Unfortunately, the promotion ceased operations on the 4th of July with the following statement.
There were several talks of revival, but nothing ever materialized. However a series of messages from long time NWA Legends promoter could mean the return of wrestling in Charlotte.
On November 10th from Greg Price's Twitter
And again on the 12th
But the biggest tweet came yesterday and also posted at the NWA Showcase Facebook
Apparently the folks of Charlotte have some NWA Wrestling to look forward too. There hasn't been too much information released, but seeminly Greg Price and the NWA are back to their on-again relationship and the folks of Charlotte are the ones who are winning.
Who do you want to see in the new NWA Promotion in Charlotte?
"We wanted a perfect ending. Now we've learned, the hard way, that some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment, and making the best of it, without knowing why." - JD & Jay

You guys hear that wrestling is coming back to Charlotte on a regular basis? No fruits and fairies this time, though!
And again on the 12th
Wrestling returns to Charlotte! Complete details will be announced by Christmas with monthly Sunday afternoon shows beginning in February!
But the biggest tweet came yesterday and also posted at the NWA Showcase Facebook
Okay, it's official... NWA: New Beginnings! kicks off Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2010 at the Hilton University Place hotel in Charlotte! Like they used to say, the name on the marquee says W-R-E-S-T-L-I-N-G, so expect to see the very best the National Wrestling Alliance and this area has to offer! This is gonna be a LOT of fun, folks!

Nobody could ever top the original NWA Charlotte. Jd and Jay brought us fans the true essence of NWA wrestling blended with the wrestling that we watch on TV each week. Greg Pryce can't do it. He's cheap. And you can't have wrestling in a hotel ballroom! I won't support it. Besides, word on the streets in North Charlotte is that the real NWA Charlotte is coming back in 2010. No match. I'll be on the real deal.

WTF! No one ever be able to repeat what NWA Charlotte did. First, Greg Price put them out of business. Now he's coming in to reap the benefits of their success. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. I wont support his try.
Hm lets se...................
I want to see the reunion of NWA Charlotte talent (with less Anarchy talent), more NWA Legends, maybe Bob Caudle or Rich Landrum sometimes invited as Special Guest Host, old school studio-type Wrestling (but wait, its in hotel lobby like the early Showcase??? I dont like it), Opening/Ending who uses simple but beautifull music like World Wide Wrestling 1986 (or can it used it again??? I hope its in public domain so VKM cannot complained, and more importantly : BOOK the BOD CHAMP!!! (It will be nice to see Demon battling Sheik or Adam Pearce in Charlotte for the Title).
But the MOST important think is : ONLINE STREAMING!!!!
nwa charlotte website is back up and running. you can't do storylines and quality shows in a hotel ballroom. I'm sticking with Jay and JD.
Why fight it. Greg Price is running under the NWA Banner. I'm not sure the status of Costello's Charlotte, but why not just embrace both promotions. I know Price has a long time history in Charlotte and in the NWA. And sounds like he'll be running monthly.
No one put Costello and Joyce out of business but Costello and Joyce. They have no one to blame but themselves, although they've tried blaming anyone they can. They owe TONS of money to all of their crew, and they no longer can promote under the NWA banner.
well they sure are promoting under the NWA banner. Price is ok but his stuff is usually just geo.south's wrestling school and south under various masks...

For the latest on the Carolinas' promotions!
rumor has it that JD Costello and Jay Joyce have offered 8 nwa owners $5,000 each to "buy their votes and shares" in the nwa, llc. pretty savvy business move. i hope they buy the nwa and bring back their level of show. greg price only ran 2 shows and quit! even the nwa itself could only run 2 shows...and they lost miserably. nwa charlotte was the real promotion that could handle a city the size of charlotte. my vote is to support jd costello to buy the nwa.
If Costello and Joyce had all this money to buy up memberships and votes, why couldn't they just keep NWA Charlotte running? How many shows did NWA Charlotte run, 5... 6? So a show got canceled, so what?
Why didn't they keep running then? The fact is there is a lot of Talk out there. It also seems like Costello and Joyce like a lot of attention. I am so sure that Costello and Joyce are not going "purchase" the NWA that I would close this site if I'm wrong!
