Will the Real NWA Mexico Welterweight Champion Please Stand Up?

It isn't too late to see the NWA Mexican Welterweight Championship Match from GALLI http://www.gfl.tv/Events/Fight/Wrestling/Lucha_Libre_GALLI_Culminacion_Final/1387/?refCode=GFLA196.

The build up between Discovery and the NWA Meixcan Welterweight Champion Skayde was supposed to culminate at the GALLI iPPV.  When the NWA Sanctioned Match official was knocked down when Skayde accidentally missed a dropkick.  This is when things got out of control when a different person wearing a Discovery Mask proceeded to obliterate the NWA Ref.  The GALLI Official ended up counting the three against Skayde. Cleary the match should have been called a disqualification once Skayde inadvertently struck the official.  Even if the NWA Official was choosing  to be relaxed on the rules, then there would have been no arguments ending the match after the official was obliterated by the fake Discovery.  However, with no official announcement pertaining to to the match, from the NWA Mexico Office, then who is the Mexico Welterweight Champion? 

New NWA World Welterweight Champion: Cassandro

 Following a cease and desist orders from the Executive Director of the National Wrestling Alliance, along with NWA Mexico President Blue Demon Jr., CMLL (a former NWA Member) finally sealed the legacy of the NWA World Lightweight, NWA World Welterweight and NWA Middleweight Championships, until this weekend. 

A new NWA World Welterweight Champion has been crowned Saturday Afternoon at the NWA Mexico events in the UK.  Cassandro the Exotico defeated Dr. Cerebo to become the first World Welterweight Champion since NWA reclaimed those titles.  NWA Mexican Lightweight Champion Skayde and NWA Mexican Welterweight Champion Turbo were both competing on the cards.

NWA Worlds Championship to return to Atlanta Saturday Sept. 25th.

"Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce brings the NWA World Championship to Atlanta for Platinum Championship Wrestling.  This will mark the first time that Adam has defended the championship in Georgia.  Adam will take on PCW's Champion, Shane Marx.  The card will also feature familiar faces to the NWA, Cassandro, Davey Richards, Roderick Strong, and Samoa Joe.  Saturday Sept. 25tth,

NWA Wrestling Showcase in Phoenix, Arizona

The NWA Wrestling Showcase returns to Phoenix Arizona. The last time the NWA Showcase was in Arizona, they brought Australians, Mexicans, Former Champs, International names, and 2 big title defenses. El Gran Apollo defended the North American Championship against GQ Gallo and Blue Demon Jr. defended his Worlds Championship against Super Crazy and Oliver John.

Via Tweeter, David Marques has promised a fun weekend in Arizona with L.A. Park, former Worlds Champion Adam Pearce, Joey Ryan, Cassandro, and the Minis. If you check out the Arizona State Fair Concert Series they have listed former NWA Tag Team Champions Los Luchas, NWA World Mini Champion Octogoncito, El Hijo de Sicodelico, and the NWA Showcase cast.

No card has been made official, but I'm confident the fans in Arizona will have a good time at this event. NWA Pro Wrestling always puts on a good show and I can only hope get a match up between Adam Pearce vs. L.A. Park. Or Joey Ryan vs. Cassandro.

Cassandro to appear for TNA

Lucha Libre exotico Cassandro, appeared in the Impact Zone this week for the television tapings that are to air on Feb. 5th. Debuting under the name Satanico Del Exotico taped a match for TNA's Xplosion show. Cassandro is a former UWA Light Heavyweight Champion. Cassandro is somewhat of a free-lance wrestler in Mexico and has wrestled for Lucha Va Voom, Chikara, and NWA Pro Wrestling.
Cassandro wrestled a few matches for the NWA Showcase 2008 season, defeating Cobra II and going a time limit draw with NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Mike Quackenbush. Cassandro had also previously wrestled for the NWA Showcase Arena shows in 2006-2007.

NWA Showcase Tour returns to TX

August 23rd will mark the NWA's return to Beaumont at the Complex and NWA Southwest is reporting that their will be a second show in San Antonio on the 24th at the Freeman Coliseum. A lot of exciting names have already been booked for the event. Former NWA World Champion Adam Pearce, the NWA Tag Champs Los Luchas, Sean "XPAC" Waltman, El Hijo del Rey Misterio, Casandro, NWA North American Champ Mike DiBiase, Rob Conway, Joey Ryan, Rodney Mack, 7x Texas Champion Kevin Northcutt, Chaz Taylor, and introducing The Crazy Chickens of Lucha VaVoom plus more!

I can only guess that the "Shooter" Brent Albright will also be on the card. The flyer also shows Blue Demon Jr. and Sid Vicious, but it also shows card subject to change. This should make for an exciting night of wrestling, back to back. And then one week later the long awaited NWA Mexico debut show in Gimnasio Juan De La Barera, in Mexico City, D.F. This Summer has been picking up for the NWA.
