2010 NWA: New Beginnings Spring Series Postponed!

CHARLOTTE, NC -- (March 29, 2010) -- The remaining dates in the NWA: New Beginnings! 2010 Spring Series have been postponed. Live matches scheduled for April 11 and May 9 in Charlotte have been cancelled. Refunds have been issued to all that have purchased tickets in advance.

Thanks very much to each of you that supported our live events!

The chase for the "NWA Future Legends Cup" will culminate at this August's NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekend in Charlotte.

Everyone that competes here at NWA: New Beginnings! is eligible for the "NWA Future Legends Cup." Won-loss records will be tallied and the four young superstars with the best overall records will advance to a three-match finale Saturday night, August 7 here in Charlotte to crown a winner.

But there's more!

Not only will one of the extraordinary athletes win the "NWA Future Legends Cup," but the winner will also receive a shot at the coveted "ten pounds of gold," a championship match on Sunday afternoon, August 8 for the NWA World Heavyweight title!

So it seems that for now, the NWA New Beginnings will be on hiatus until the big event in Spring.  "Its business... more money was going out than coming in," said promoter Greg Price.  This postponement doesn't change the plans for August.  It is unfortunate that that New Beginnings will not be continuing until August.

On this episode of NWA Unleashed, the tournament to crown the first NWA Charlotte United States Champion comes to a conclusion as "Rough House" Ryan O'Reilly takes on Truitt Fields in the finals. Also, Jim Cornette continues to try and gain control of NWA Charlotte and bumps heads with "The Universal Soldier" Phil Shatter. And there will be cruiserweight tag team action as well! All this from the NWA Coliseum in Charlotte, NC!!

Is the best show title I've seen in a long time NWA Charlotte is seemingly compliant. And is set to debut even more fresh faces for the Charlotte based promotion. Talent from Fusion Pro Wrestling will be cashing in their partnership with the NWA when The Sheik, Christopher Gray, and Tommy Taylor debut in the Coliseum. The boys at Charlotte are proclaiming this show to be a two day event, in a one night show. The card is said to be featuring TNA and ROH stars. Surprisingly enough, no Reid Flair.

NWA Charlotte, 2 new champions a big news!

NWA Charlotte in its short tenure has become one of the most popular wrestling promotions in the NWA. Using talent through out the South East, Charlotte currently showcases wrestlers like, NWA National Champion Phil Shatter, Timber the Lumberjack, Mikal Judas, former WWE developmental talent Ryan O'Rilley and has hosted a series of matches with 2nd Generation wrestlers like Brad Anderson, David Flair and recenly debuting Reid Flair.

This weekend was a big weekend for Reid as he was able to capture the NWA Mid-Atlantic Heritage Championship. In a six man tag where apparently the title was on the line. This would mark the first championship for Reid Flair, it would be the only second generation to make a stir that evening. Ricky Steamboat Jr. was also challenged by Vordell Walker.
Later in the evening Truit Fields, who is currently the NWA Anarchy Television Champion, won the NWA Charlotte US Heavyweight Championship by defeating Ryan O'Rilley.
Also according to Larry Goodman the NWA Showcase will becoming to NWA Charlotte. There are also plans to tape matches at "Striking Gold" the big event in Tyler Texas.
