Surprising Opponents step up to face the NWA Worlds Champion: The Sheik
But here is where our story takes an interesting turn. Already matches planed for July 9th in Florida against home grown talent Colby Godwin for NWA Florida, the Sheik also has said to accept a challenge from two very interesting opponents. The first name we heard about at Alliance-Wrestling was in fact Steve Corino. Corino, known for his EXTREME wrestling has had legendary wars in Japan and in the US with the likes of fellow former NWA Worlds Champion Shinya Hashimoto. Corino who works regularly all over the world but most regularly for Ring of Honor, World Wrestling Council, and ZERO1, was able to petition the NWA Board of Directors for a shot at the Sheik.
Another name has emerged to challenge the Sheik. One Ryouiji Sai, ZERO1 Heavyweight Champion has stepped forward to silence the Sheik. (The AWAStars of Wrestling Heavyweight Title is still used to represent the ZERO1 Championship, we explain that here.) Likely fed up with the way The Sheik trashed ZERO1 on his last tour, the Sheik has been invited back where this time, he will be defended the Legendary 10lbs of Gold in the Land of the Rising Son. July 3rd will mark the first time since TNA and the NWA Split that the Worlds Title will be defended in Japan. To Sai's credit, ever since the NWA and ZERO1 re-established their professional relationship, Sai has patiently waited for his opportunity to face off against the NWA Worlds Champion. Ryouiji Sai has been Ranked #4 on PWI's Top Ten for the better part of 11 Weeks. Perhaps his posturing has paid off and his opportunity to showcase to the world that ZERO1's fighters are the toughest is about to pay off.
Or this could be more villainy from the Sheik, looking to expand his golden belt collection even further. Remember Sheik was the first wrestler in the NWA to simultaneously hold The NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship, the NWA Midwest Championship, and the NWA North American Championship. His narcisim knows no bounds, perhaps the Sheik is just looking for another reminder to the Japanese wrestling fans that he is really that good. Either way July 3rd 2011 will be a day that changes the NWA and ZERO1 forever.

World-1 joing the National Wrestling Alliance?
From the World-1 Pro Wrestling Website
President Corino is proud to announce that Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 has joined the National Wrestling Alliance as an affiliate promotion.
“The NWA has a long history of tradition in professional wrestling. And as a former NWA World’s champion myself, I thought the time was right for Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 to get involved. ” said Steve Corino, “The new generation of W-1 wants to work with talent from other promotions and with the NWA you can exchange a lot of talent. I really look forward to seeing current World’s champion Adam Pearce in our ring.”
There will be more to the story. Corino said even more announcements will happen tomorrow!

NWA Pro/M1W Presents Centre City Slam!
Main Event
Scorpio Sky vs. Shelton Benjamin
- On June 5th, Scorpio Sky defeated Joey Ryan & Johnny Goodtime in a triple threat match to earn a spot in Main Event at the biggest M1W show of the year against a mystery opponent. It was later revealed that the mystery opponent was none other than for WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin! Now two of the most naturally gifted athletes to ever step foot in a ring will go head to head for the first time ever.
NWA Pro/M1W Heritage Tag Team Championship Match
RockNES Monsters (Johnny Goodtime & Johnny Yuma) (c) vs. Brian Kendrick & Paul London
- For nearly four months, The RockNES Monsters have been on a roll as the NWA Pro/M1W Heritage Tag Team Champions, overcoming any task that is put in their way. This might just be their toughest task to date as they face former WWE Tag Team Champions Brian Kendrick & Paul London who not only have that accomplishment under their belt, but also have more experience as a tag team than the current champions.
NWA Pro/M1W Championship Match
Willie Mack (c) vs. James Morgan
- This has been the most consistent and bitter rivalry in the history of M1W. Ever since Willie Mack became NWA Pro/M1W Champion, as the expense of former champion Morgan in a fatal four way elimination, Morgan has been at the throat of the champion, leaving him on the shelf with an injury, not only once, but twice. Willie Mack's most current injury came at the hands of Morgan's paid assassin, Cedric The Hitman, less than 3 weeks ago. Willie Mack has promised fans he will be in San Diego to defend his title, but many think Mack will not be at 100% if he makes it to "Centre City Slam."
First Time Match
Joey Ryan vs. "The King of Old School" Steve Corino
- Since Joey Ryan's split with C. Edward Vanderpyle, he has been on a tear in NWA Pro/M1W and has climbed into the NWA World Championship picture and looks to continue his winning ways against former ECW & former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino. Corino however, has other plans in mind and looks to catapult his way back into the NWA World Championship picture by defeating one of the top contenders.
Ladies Match
Buggy vs. Candice LeRae
- Over the past few months, Buggy has seen her popularity rise among the fans here in Southern California as somewhat of a rookie sensation. Candice LeRae seems to have taken exception to this and as the woman who paved the way for all women's wrestling in Southern California, wants to make sure that she remains the queen bee here in SoCal.
International Tag Team Match
Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre) vs. Anchors Away (David E. Jones & Ryan Stone)
- Dealing with arrogant Americans is not new to Los Luchas, however Anchors Away being from the San Diego area, may have the home field advantage, not to mention establishing their wrestling in San Diego also gives them a more lucha influenced style which a lot of times Los Luchas can use to catch people off guard and score victories. With Anchors Away being schooled in that style, Los Luchas may have to figure out an alternate means to defeat the San Diego natives.
SoCal Pro Match
SoCal Crazy vs. Tommy Wilson
- SoCal Pro is the local NWA affiliate in the San Diego area and have signed this match between two of its top contenders for the SoCal Pro Championship. This match, on this stage is sure to have a big impact on the ranking system and the challengers that the SoCal Pro office deems fit to go after their most coveted prize.
Generations Match
Disco Machine vs. "Pretty" Peter Avalon
- Disco Machine is one of the original SoCal wrestlers who put this area on the professional wrestling map. His abilities have only gotten better as his skill and wisdom have grown. Peter Avalon is a relative newcomer to the area and is looking to not only get noticed, but force his way into becoming a household name by taking out an established veteran like Disco Machine.
International Singles Match
Ariya Daivari vs. Atsushi Sawada
- The NWA is known for having the best world wide competition and this match is an example of that. Middle East and Far East collide as Ariya Daivari, the younger brother of Shawn Daivari, takes on IGF warrior Atsushi Sawada.
8-Man Tag Team Match
Jacob Diez, Andrew Hellman, Mikey Callahan & Nick Madrid vs. Cedric The Hitman, Kyle Webb, Jason Watts & Brandon Parker
- For those following M1W Friday Fight Night, you will notice that this 8-Man Tag Team Match consists of four individual feuds as the issues between Diez & Cedric, Hellman & Webb, Callahan & Watts and Madrid & Parker are all heating up each and every week they seem to be at eachothers throats. There are many combustible elements in this one.

International Man of Mystery: Hartley Jackson
Hartley Jackson has been a fixture for the National Wrestling Alliance for nearly five years. In five years times, Jag has made appearances for NWA Pro Wrestling Stateside, along with NWA Pro affiliate Explosive Pro Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling, all the while being a fixture of the NWA Pro Wrestling Australia group. And with Jag's recent return to Japan, its without a doubt, that Hartley Jackson is the International Man of Mystery!
The former NWA Australian Heavyweight Champion, since joining the Zero One tour began partnering with NWA Heartland States Champion Steve Corino. In a match against KAMIKAZE X and Kintaro Kanemura, Jackson scored the victory following one of his deadly lariats. Jackson was on the side of the losing team with Corino, and Minoru Fujita, who caused the loss teamed with Shinkiro Otani, Akebono, and KAMIKAZE. For the next match, Jag and Corino took on the NWA Intercontinental Tag Team titles from the tag team Kazan, who are Otani and Akebono. Corino and Jackson blamed the loss on the cold temperatures. Jag even said "We lost and there's nothing we can do about the past. It was difficult to get used to the bitter cold of Hokkaido. What happened to Global Warming? It hasn't reached Hokkaido yet? It snows in April!? I've been doing my best to get used to this, and I think I'm ready for tomorrow and a victory!"
Corino and Jag got back on the winning ways defeating former Z1 Heavyweight Champion Masato Tanaka and Kintaro Kanemura. And Jackson would also win his first singles match in Zero One the following week against Young Generation Wrestler Yoshikazu Yokoyama.

Corino wins NWA Heartland Championship
First, "The Future" Colby Corino made a successful NWA debut by submitting The Golden Boy Taylor in just under 8 minutes . Word is that Colby Corino may be the youngest wrestler in the 61 year history of the National Wrestling Alliance to win a sanctioned match.
Then in the semi-final, Steve Corino won his 60th career championship when he pinned the very talented and tough Dinn T. Moore to become the new NWA Heartland States heavyweight champion!
Questionable tatics were used but the new champion had this to say:
"Dinn T's problems with Brandon Blaze are no concern of mine. Winning titles and earning my shot against Blue Demon Jr. for the NWA World's title is what is on my mind. Moore was a good champion and I welcome a return match but I plan on being the champion for a long time!"
Corino and Moore will collide again in the rematch on September 18 in West Allis, WI with special referee Dysfunction! Visit BrewCityWrestling1.com for all the ticket information.

NWA3000 Fighting Athletes debut!
327 East Main Street, Suite 2
Philadelphia, PA 19426
Press release regarding formation of new company and dojo
On Saturday afternoon, March 15 members of the NWA3000 Fighting Athletes announced the formation of their new company.
NWA3000 Fighting Athletes was created as a wrestling event producer in conjunction with Steve Corino’s Revolution Puroresu Dojo in Limerick (suburban Philadelphia), PA. The owner of the company is a business man out of Valley Forge, PA named Cory Stevens. Mr. Stevens, 43, is a life long pro-wrestling fan and is looking for NWA3000 Fighting Athletes to not only be an event wrestling fans will enjoy, but families also.
NWA3000 Fighting Athletes will run monthly events out of The Loft in Limerick, PA starting on Friday night, May 9th with an 8:00 belltime. Future Limerick events will take place on June 13, July 11, August 15, September 12, October 10, November 14, and December 20. We will also produce four live events a year in Boyertown, Reading, and Lancaster County, PA. We will also run an event in Robersonville, NC on Saturday, October 4 for the Robersonville Rescue/EMS.
NWA3000 Fighting Athletes is the newest associate member of the National Wrestling Alliance under the NWA East banner.
“The NWA is rich in tradition and even though it has had its ups and downs over the years with various members coming and going, I am confident this membership is as unified as ever and looking toward great things in the future.” Mr. Stevens said at the press conference. He continued “We are also looking forward to producing family-friendly events. Shows that old school fans can bring their kids to and not have to worry about it being too over the top. There are a lot of great companies in the Philadelphia area such as PWU, CZW, ROH, and Chikara that gives the fans something different. We also want to be different and hope that the fans will give us a chance to entertain them. 2008 could be a big year for area wrestling with the kind of variety there is. There is something for everyone and that is exciting because the fans are the big winner.” NWA3000 Fighting Athletes plans on keeping ticket prices as inexpensive as possible with Front Row Reserved tickets being $15.00 and General Admission tickets being $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12.
May 9 will be the beginning of the NWA3000 Fighting Athletes journey. The event will be headed up by such great young talents as Sterling James Keenan, Dr. X, Ricky Landell, Kid America, The Best Around, Greg Spitz, Teddy Fine, Dirty Denver Street, Terrible Tommy Thunder, GPS, Sweet Daddy Ebony, Ricky Reyes and rounded out by veterans King Kaluha and former AWA/ECW/NWA World champion Steve Corino. Corino and Kaluha also head up the Revolution Puroresu Dojo training center inside the Gold’s Gym in Limerick, PA.
Corino, who recently broke a 6 week “retirement” had this to say; “As much as I am excited about local wrestling coming back to the Montgomery Country area after my failure with Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1, I may be more excited about the Revolution Puroresu Dojo. When you want to talk about state-of-the-art facilities I think we have the best because not only do we have a ring, we have a fully stacked gym, tanning, classes, history, and the backing of a gym chain that has been in business for 60 years. But make no bones about it, I want the NWA World’s championship back and I am coming after Pearce!””
NWA3000 Fighting Athletes recognizes Adam Pearce, Mike Quakenbush, Amazing Kong, and Los Luchas as the World’s heavyweight, Jr. heavyweight, women’s, and tag team champions respectively and will also recognize the following titles as our main regional championships.
1. ZERO-ONE United States championship: The championship was started in January of 2003 in Japan under the Pro-Wrestling ZERO-ONE banner with Steve Corino being the first wrestler to hold the title.
Over the next five years the following fighters have been the champion; The Predator, former NWA World’s champion Nayoa Ogawa, Kohei Sato, WWE’s Brian Kendrick, TNA’s Alex Shelley and Christopher Daniels, Ricky Landell, and Sterling James Keenan. On March 8, Sterling James Keenan ended “Mr. Wrestling 3” Steve Corino’s third reign in Pittsburgh, PA and then only seven days later he was upset by the mysterious Dr. X in Morganville, NJ.
2. Premier tag team championship: Originally known as the PWF Universal tag team titles from 2001-2007, 14 tag teams held the titles ranging from The Damned, The SAT, Danny Rose & Adam Flash, Former Mid-South/UWF/NWA/WCW/ECW Star Jack Victory & Guillotine LeGrande, CW Anderson & Steve Corino, Shinjiro Otani & Masato Tanaka, Josh Daniels & WWE star Matt Striker, Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita, Greg Spitz & Mark Mest, King Kaluha & Larry Sweeney, and finally Kid America & The Patriot in early 2007.
In March of 2007, Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 closed its doors permanently and the titles were left dormant. With the formation of a new company we did not want to confuse new fans with so we will just simply re-name the Premier Wrestling Federation tag team titles the Premier tag team championships. NWA3000 Officials also will not be retaining the services of The Patriot but gave Kid America a chance to pick a partner to defend the titles. After much thought, Kid America chose Ricky Landell.
“I have known Ricky since he has been training and I couldn’t think of a better partner.” Kid America said, “We have already set time aside to train together at the Revolution Puroresu Dojo to beome a better team.”
Officially, Kid America and Ricky Landell become the 15th Premier tag team champions effective March 15, 2008.
3. NWA U-30 Openweight championship: Stealing an idea from New Japan Pro-Wrestling, NWA3000 is proud to announce the NWA U-30 Openweight title. U-30 stands for “under 30 years old” and was designed to be a title marketed to the next generation of fighters. A wrestler must be under 29 years, 364 days old to compete for the title. If a champion exceeds the 30 year old he will be forced to vacate the championship but in return he will receive an NWA World’s title match within 30 days of vacating the title.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On April 1, 2008 the Revolution Puroresu Dojo officially opens it doors inside Gold’s Gym at 70 Buckwalter Road in Limerick, PA. Classes will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sundays with “student shows” every Saturday morning starting on May 17, 2008
For less then $100.00 a month, trainees not only get access to training by Steve Corino, Ricky Reyes, and King Kaluha but they also receive a Gold’s Gym membership! For details go to www. MySpace. com/NWA3K or email CorinoPuroresu@yahoo.com. Registration is open now!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA3000 Fighting Athletes has developed a strong working relationship with B4W Pro-Wrestling out of New Jersey (www. B4WPro. com) and will exchange talent. B4W is building a great reputation for their family friendly events and NWA3000 will follow the same game plan.
NWA3000 also has inked a deal with Pro-Wrestling ZERO1-MAX in Japan for a talent exchange to go along with the other NWA members.

Tough Break Litterally,
Prophet was even scheduled to compete for Southern Pro Wrestling's Clash of the Champions card, where the 3 B.O.D. controlled titles were to be defended on the same card. However, Prophet sustained an injury in a match that not only made him cancel this appearance, but could possible keep him out the ring for the remainder of the year.
Chance was injured in a non-title match recently. As you can see in the match, Chance broke his leg.
His surgery was a success, but he will be out for a while. You can contribute to his medical bills by using paypal. He will accept any help that can be provide, please use the email address chanceprophet1@yahoo.com. You can also send your best wishes for him too.
