NWA EAST'S Quinn Magnum answers Lou Marconi and NWA EAST Heavyweight Title Match Preview
NWA-East's Lou Marconi sent another video in to NWAEast.com this past week, which isnt anything out of the ordinary. What was out of the ordinary is who who addressed in the video... former longtime rival and current NWA-East Championship Committee member Quinn Magnum. Magnum and Lou's history goes back 15 years and this time it was Lou who requested to Quinn, via video, to look more closely at the challenger for the NWA-East Heavyweight Title match that fellow Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick placed in the match. It was Patrick's own man Ashton Amherst. Lou pointed out that he had just defeated Ashton at the last event and that Lou has been ranked in the top 5 of the NWA-East Eleven Elite Rankings since the rankings have been coming out. Lou boldly stated that he wants to be in the title match as well and told Quinn to do the fair thing.
Well, Quinn Magnum has responded to Lou Marconi's video and request. Quinn has sent the following statement to NWAEast.com: "After viewing Mr Marconi's video, I took it upon myself to look further into the Heavyweight Title Match set for this Friday, June 10th. I find that Lou Marconi indeed does have a legit complaint in this matter having pinned Ashton Amherst just under three weeks ago. With Lou's consistent ranking in the top five, I have decided that Lou Marconi will now be included in the NWA-East Heavyweight Title Match thus making it a three-way dance between champion Stryder, Ashton Amherst, and Lou Marconi. Unlike Lou's video's to the NWA upper brass, this video did not fall on deaf ears with nothing at all being done about a deserved situtation."
So with that, the NWA-East Heavyweight Title Match just got that much more interesting as we now have champion Stryder v Lou Marconi v Ashton Amherst. The current champion Stryder has been unstoppable since winning Burgh Brawl 15. He would go on and become the first man, since Mad Mike in 2003, to win Burgh Brawl and then capture the heavyweight title the next show with the title shot won at the Burgh Brawl event. Stryder came in facing new champion Ryan Mitchell but was able to make it a very short reign for Mitchell as Stryder was able to make Mitchell tap out in submission to win the title. Now, Stryder's first defense will be against two men that have been to the top of the mountain before having reigned as NWA-East Heavyweight Champions themselves. Stryder's work is cut out for him, but he has vowed to be a fighting champion and he has hit the road running indeed.
Ashton Amherst has held the heavyweight title on two occasions and now has his sights set on a third title reign. Asthon took it upon himself to ruin Stryder's winning celebration by attacking him from behind. Only hours after the attack, Championship Committee member and Amherst's manager Shawn Patrick granted Amherst a title match for Friday, June 10th. Amherst has delcared that he will stop at nothing to get the title back as holding the NWA North American Tag-Team Titles for the last year is no longer a tough enough challenge for him. Amherst has stated that 'the Ashton era will once again return with all of it's glory!"
Lou Marconi is himself a former heavyweight champion having virtually seen and done it all in professional wrestling. His ultimate goal is to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title, a goal he has been chasing for the last year and a half. Unfortunately, Lou's quest has run into red tape and backstage politics within the upper realm of the NWA. Attempts have been made to silence him. He has even been asked what he hopes to accomplish which may be one of the most ridiculous statements this writer has heard in quite some time. What Lou hopes to accomplish is the same goal every wrestler in the NWA should hope to accomplish and that is to become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. To Lou's credit he has not gone away like some have hoped he would and he has taken down one top contender after another. Now that he has a spot in the title match, Lou has a chance to win the title for a second time and with holding the heavyweight title in one of the most consistent running promotions in the entire NWA, Lou Marconi would make people have to notice him.
The biggest prize in the NWA-East is up for grabs on Friday, June 10th with three of the best the promotion has to offer. Who will walk out of the Jacob Woll Pavillion with the gold???

The Sheik to be Fighting Champion
Negotiations are underway to bring NWA World Champion The Sheik to western North Carolina for the first time in several years. North Carolina Wrestling Federation Champion "Old School" Lou Marconi has issued a challenge to The Sheik and it has been verbally agreed that The Sheik will defend the NWA World Championship against Marconi in Cherokee, North Carolina sometime in July.
The Sheik, after being called out by Marconi said that he would be glad to "cut Marconi up into little bitty pieces" any time and anywhere the former NWA-East Champion wanted to step into the ring with him.
During an appearance on "And Then The Bell Rings" radio The Sheik said he wanted to be a Champion who defended the belt against whomever was brave enough to challenge him. The Sheik also noted that he wanted to be the first NWA Champion to defend the belt across the globe including defenses upcoming in Japan and Alaska. The Sheik said that he would be a fighting champion and one of his first defenses would be a rematch with former champion Colt Cabana.
Marconi has lobbied for months to get an opportunity to wrestle for the coveted "Ten Pounds of Gold" cutting promos on former champion Adam Pearce, Colt Cabana, The Sheik and the NWA itself. A match with Adam Pearce for the title came close to happening in the NWA-East for Marconi but fell through at the last minute. "I have waited for twelve years to get my shot, I do not care who has the belt, when they get into the ring, I am walking out the NWA Champion" Marconi said.
As negotiations continue between the NCWF, Marconi and The Sheik to return to the Mid-Atlantic region for a title match The Sheik is preparing for a match scheduled for July 31 in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State Fair with three time former champion Adam Pearce. Pearce is on the injured list with a serious neck injury that may put not only the match on hold but also threatens his career. "I am not sure when I am coming back" Pearce said "but I hope it happens soon."
With title defenses coming up for The Sheik against former champions The Sheik said he did not feel he was at a disadvantage saying "my style is unorthodox and those who challenge me are at the disadvantage, not Sheik."
The summer will be a hot one in the NWA and The Sheik is certain to feel the heat as the target on his back continues to grow with each new contender lining up to get their shot at the NWA World Championship.

NWA EAST's Lou Marconi is a man on a mission, can anyone shout him up???
NWA-East's Lou Marconi has been a figure of controversy since he re-entered the NWA and NWA-East a year and a half ago. Lou is no stranger to titles in the NWA-East as he has held the NWA-East Heavyweight, Three Rivers, and Tag-Team Titles. He is also no stranger to wrestling on the biggest stages possible having wrestled on ECW(yes the original one) Television and WWE television on numerous occasions.
The controversy began within three minutes of his return as he attacked then NWA-East Three Rivers Champion Ryan Mitchell just seconds after helping the champion out against a doubleteam assault. Marconi would take the title from Mitchell in a matter of weeks and then proceed to change the landscape of the NWA-East as he launched an open attack on the entire Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based promotion by launching an invasion of Cleveland, Ohio talent dubbing his invading force The 216 Clique. The Clique would become 16 strong at his height assaulting every champion in the promotion, every wrestler both men and women, and even NWA-East officials. The war is still raging right now as Lou has even managed to have NWA Mountain State wrestlers appear at the NWA-East and ally themselves with Marconi and his 216 Clique.
Marconi has been consistent to the point of annoyance to the NWA Brass with his weekly videos directed at the NWA World's Heavyweight Championship and even pointed jabs at the the highest of NWA officials. Marconi has called out the World's Champion for months now(all of which can be seen on NWAEast.com) but has yet to receive a title match. When openly questioning the reason for the snub, it was indicated to Lou that he must earn the title shot. Lou has even been asked what he hopes to accomplish by continuing his weekly videos to which he replied he wants just one opportunity to win the Worlds Title.
Marconi has now issued an open challenge to any nationally or world recognized NWA Champion stating that he will defeat any champion in less than ten minutes. Marconi is now claiming to have video footage of the new NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Colt Cabana literally running away from a pursuing Marconi.
Lou Marconi is a man on a mission to gain attention, good or bad, to himself on a grand scope within the NWA. The question is....Can anyone shout him up???

The NWA is said to be sending in “storm troopers” this Saturday night in McKeesport to the NWA East Arena in an effort to squash the uprising. There is word that someone else is behind the takeover but no one knows who the mastermind is…yet. Be sure to check out www.nwaeast.org for all the latest and get out to McKeesport this Saturday night to see if the NWA is successful or if the 2-1-6 Clique and Lou Marconi continue to beat down the NWA East.
