After winning a Battle Royal for an opportunity to challenge for the NWA Worlds Championship, Ben Galvan defeats the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. Originally Galvan was given the three count, but referee Bruce Tharpe reversed the decision when it was discovered Pearce had used a steel chain to knock out Galvan for the pin.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!! NWA WORLDS TITLE STRIPPED!!!!!!!!!

CHARLOTTE, NC: The NWA has been informed that The Sheik has pulled out of his scheduled title defense on July 31st at the Ohio St. Fair against 3-time champion Adam Pearce. It is not clear at this time as to the reasons behind The Sheik's refusal to go through with this bout. The NWA first received an inkling of the issue when it was noted that the long-awaited showdown was no longer on The Sheik's calendar. When contacted, The Sheik's camp confirmed that he would not be appearing for the eagerly-anticipated battle.

Faced with this refusal, the NWA Board of Directors held an emergency teleconference, with the result being that The Sheik has been stripped of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, effective immediately. "This is not something the NWA does lightly", said Executive Director, Robert K. Trobich. "We prefer that the title be settled in the ring".

The vacant title will be filled by the new main event for the July 31st show: A three-way match between the man who was promised the shot, 3-Time Champ, Scrap Iron Adam Pearce, and the holders of the two other most prestigious belts in the NWA, National Champion, Chance Prophet, and North American Champion, Shaun Tempers!

We all shared our opinions of NWA Hollywood extending an invitation to Locked Out, NFL Players for an opportunity to work for the NWA.

NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich joined the show and discussed how strong he thought the NWA is right now. Mentioned how the match with Sheik and Rai was decided by the Mr. Nakamura and Ohtani in sealing the ZERO1 World’s Title Legacy. We spoke about the contingency plan for the NWA Southern Heavyweight Championship if Rockwell was successful in his quest for the North American Title Tournament. We also talked about the genesis of a NWA Network, which is in the works that will feature all of the NWA Programming in one all inclusive area. We also talk about what would have happened if the Sheik wasn’t successful in Japan or if Adam Pearce wasn’t cleared to wrestle.

Tonight on KDOC-TV's NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, just one day after the 33rd birthday of the man who has worn the NWA Worlds Championship a record setting three times, will announce the decision that will actually impact the entire National Wrestling Alliance.

During the course of a regularly scheduled tag team match in Hollywood, Pearce while teaming with Austin Aries would his injure his neck against Scorpio Sky and Joey Ryan. The injury would have repercussions that would keep Pearce out of a ring ever since.

"Scrap Iron" has updated fans via his facebook of his status and decided to make an official comment on this evenings NWA live program in the Los Angeles market. But Pearce has agreed to join the Alliance-Wrestling.com staff for more discussion of what is next in the life and times of Adam Pearce.

The Return of NWA Mexico... in London?

The rough translation of Blue Demon Jr's tweet is "PARTY TOMORROW FOR LONDON TOUR WITH MEXICO NWA will keep you informed." Apparently LuchaFuture has booked the entire NWA Mexico group for a series of events in the UK. June 24th through the 26th at the Roundhouse in London, the 28th at Sage in Gateshead, and finally July 1st and 2nd at the Dome in Brighton. Expected luchadors are the former reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon Jr., Cassandro, Mango, NWA Mexican Lightweight Champion Skayde, Hantar, Arez,     NWA Mexican Welterweight Championship Turbo, Hanaoka, Black Thunder, Super Nova, Eragon, Ikaro, Kronos, Mr. Katana, and Dr. Cerebro.

This isn't the first time Blue Demon Jr. has been to the United Kingdom representing the NWA.  His previous tenure as NWA Worlds Champion saw him defend the title December 9th 2008 against Solar.  El Hijo de la Leyenda Azul is currently the reigning NWA Pro/Pro Wrestling Revolution Heavyweight Champion.  No word yet if he'll be defending the Revolution Heavyweight Title while in London.  That title has been defended in Mexico and Portugal previously.

Happy Birthday to Dan "The BEAST" Severn

In 2010, Dan Severn was voted into the NWA Hall of Fame. Severn has the distinction of being a UFC Fighter while wearing the Legendary 10lbs. of Gold. Severn would even enter the WWE as NWA Worlds Champion. Severn is a two time champion, defeating Chris Candido to win his first championship and defeating fellow Hall of Fame member Hashimoto in ZERO1 for his second reign. Severn never lost the Worlds Title as TNA Stripped him of the championship, prior to their PPV debut. Severn would also go on to hold the NWA UK National Championship when he defeated Johnny Moss.

Severn is still very much active and we wish him the best, thanks Beast!

NWA Worlds Championship match taking place at PWL's Renaissance

NWA Worlds Champion, The Sheik's spreads his brand of devastation all across the World. Fresh from wrestling in ZERO1 and HUSTLE, the globetrotter makes his debut in for Pro Wrestling Lachine (PWL) as he brings the NWA Worlds Championship back to Canada.

A match that has been in the making for months. The Sheik was set to face the Son of Abdullah as part of a four way match in New York for Pro Wrestling Syndicate. Fans of the National Wrestling Alliance might be more familiar with the Son of Abdullah from his brief work at NWA On Fire.  SOA is also very familiar with former NWA North American Champion, Dru Onyx.

The fireball hurling, spike wielding, camel clutch specialist will face off against the fork stabbing, human wrecking ball in what promises to be a gory encounter. Maybe less of a wrestling match and more like a war of epic proportions.

Jack Brisco was inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame back in 2010.  Brisco was a two time NWA Worlds Champion.  Brisco's victories came at the expense of two icons in the sport, Giant Baba and Harley Race.  Brisco had defeated Harley Race in Houston Texas and would hold the title for 500 days before losing to Giant Baba in Kagoshima Japan, winning it a few days later in Japan.  Nearly a year later, Brisco's last reign as champion would come to an end when Terry Funk would win the title in Tampa Florida. Brisco held titles through the NWA, from Georgia Championship Wrestling, to the Mid-Atlantic, from the Gulf Coast, to Mid America.  Brisco was also honored in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008 and winner of the Lou Thesz Award in the Cauliflower Alley Club in 2005.  Thanks to Debra Taylor for allowing us to use this photo.

NWA Worlds Champion The Sheik promised to bring his reign of terror to the land of the rising son.  Little did ZERO1 knew what exactly The Middle Eastern Mad Man had in mind.  This picture surfaced on the internet earlier today and the front office of ZERO1 is very displeased.  My understanding is that the Sheik preemptively attacked Kenta Kakinuma who was to team with Masato Tanaka to take on the Sheik who would team with Mark Hussein on May 23rd at Korakuen Hall.  

Suffering from serious burns, there is no indication that Kenta will be healthy enough to compete in this match up.  And with Matt Stone and Mark Hussein by his side, there is no telling the terror the Sheik could bring to the Land of the Rising Son.

3 NWA World Titles On The Line At Fanfest

Three NWA World championships will be at stake and the 2011 NWA Future Legends Cup winner will be crowned when live wrestling matches return to this August's NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekend!

New NWA World Heavyweight Champion The Sheik has three challengers looking to get a shot at the famous "10 pounds of gold." Former champ Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana, 3-time former champ "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce, and current TNA Television champion Gunner are the three top contenders, and each has a compelling case for why he should get the opportunity to fight for the championship. All have confirmed they'll be in Atlanta as well!

The final rounds of the 2011 NWA Future Legends Cup competition will also take place, featuring eight of the very best young talents in the country. Last year's winner, the former Phill Shatter and current TNA Television champ Gunner, will present the beautiful cup to this year's winner.

This showcase of the very best the National Wrestling Alliance has to offer takes place Saturday night, August 6 at the VFW Fairgrounds in Carrolton, Georgia (a regular stop during the glory days of Georgia Championship Wrestling.) The all-star card is being held in conjunction with this year's NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekend in Atlanta August 4-7.

NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Craig Classic will defend against longtime Alabama Junior Heavyweight Champion "Action" Mike Jackson, and the NWA World Tag Team Championship will be defended on the card, as well.

Charter buses will be available for a nominal fee to provide roundtrip transportation from Atlanta's Airport Marriott (site of this year's fanfest activities,) to Carrolton's VFW Fairgrounds, for any fanfest attendees that would like to attend the matches. It's about a 50-minute drive each way. The buses will leave Atlanta's Airport Marriott at 5:30 p.m. and return by 11 p.m. (just in time for "All My Rowdy Friends" with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper!)

As in previous years, those with fanfest VIP "All Access" Passes will be admitted to the matches free of charge and prior to non-VIPs.
