NWA ECCW Stars join Perros Del Mal

A big deal was made about the Perros Del Mal when the group was first created.  In the beginnings it seemed that the Perros were working closely with Blue Demon Jr. and the NWA Mexico promotion.  It seems that Perros Del Mal is getting another influx of talent from the NWA, but not from Mexico.  Taya Valkyrie and  Pete Powers from the NWA Member in Canada, ECCW have now joining Héctor Garza, Taya Valkyrie, reigning ECCW Heavyweight Champion Pete Powers, Halloween, Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Teddy Hart and Nicho el Millonario.

ECCW: Ranarchy Mar. 24th

ECCW: Chamber of Extreme Mar. 23rd

ECCW will now be known as ELITE CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING.

In light of these events, it is the belief of my Administration that the concept of “weight divisions,” championed by the National Wrestling Alliance as a necessary evil, is archaic and obsolete. The size of the competitor does not matter – what matters is the God-given talent on display. As a result, I have issued the following rulings, effective immediately:

The NWA/ECCW Canadian Heavyweight Championship, unified earlier this year and currently held by Artemis Spencer, is officially de-unified. Spencer will remain the NWA Canadian Heavyweight Champion, with all the rights and privileges therein.

News regarding the NWA in Canada for WFX

Season 2, will begin production in the Spring of 2011, and there will be a bit of a new flavor to the programming.  Including some Mexican luchadors, some additional new faces, and sadly some key players will be missing.  WFX Management is said to be extremely high on ECCW's top guy Scotty Mac from British Columbia, and given the NWA connections to WFX, one has to wonder if a "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce vs. Scotty Mac NWA World Title defense might not be in the cards.

Adam Pearce sent a statement to the management of WFX Wrestling last year when he proudly defended the NWA Worlds Championship against Wavell Starr.  "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce defended the NWA Worlds Championship twice in Canada, but none against wrestlers in the NWA Canadian member ECCW.  No doubt WFX is looking to improve their brand with help from the National Wrestling Alliance, including the NWA Canadian Champion Scotty Mac.  I for one look for this match-up in the New Year.

NWA ECCW presents The Next Chapter December 4th 2010

Bullet Point Preview by Boston Pizza for The Next Chapter Saturday December 4 2010
The First Round of the ECCW Title Tournament!
Artemis Spencer vs J-SIN Sullivan
•    Artemis Spencer is one half of the ECCW Tag Team Champions and 2010 Pacific Cup Champion.  He comes off a loss to El Phantasmo and has never held the ECCW Title before.
•    J- SIN Sullivan is one of Oregon’s biggest and best stars and just defeated Bishop at First Blood in November. Sullivan is someone with no friends in ECCW and this may be a factor as Artemis has the Church of Divine Prophecy watching his back.
The Cremator vs Tony Baroni
•    The Cremator is The Church of Divine Prophecy monster.  He has never won the big one, and will regularly sacrifice winning in the hopes of inflicting great pain and suffering.
•    Tony Baroni is ECCW’s breakout star of 2010, and is on a hot streak beating both Jamie Diaz and Bishop in the last month. Baroni is still very inexperienced though, and who knows how he will fair in such an important tournament.
The Divine
Prophet vs Billy Suede
•    The Divine Prophet returned from his summer sabbatical and captured the ECCW Tag Team Titles on just his second match back. Prophet has never held singles gold.
•    Billy Suede is the only former ECCW Champion in the tournament and is the 2008 Pacific Cup Champion. These two accomplishments make him the odds on favorite to win the whole thing.
Bishop vs Pete Powers
•    With Sid Sylum injured, Bishop has taken over as top dog in Natural Selection. He is the only former NWA Canadian Champion in the tournament and eliminated three men last month in War Games. Bishop has lost his last two singles matches and showed great frustration and anger with these losses.
•    Pete Powers’ pure strength and size will be a problem for anyone. Powers has only had ECCW success in tag wrestling and is unproven as a singles competitor.
NWA Canadian Junior Title
Rick “The Weapon” X (c) vs Harv Sihra
•    These men met back at Van City Showdown and tore the roof off the RCC. It was such a close match that this rematch was made by Commissioner Insane Bill Coltrane
•    Harv is the last NWA Pacific Northwest Junior Champion and has vowed to add this belt to his impressive resume. Rick is a fighting champion and never backs down from a fight.
Egos & Icons vs The International Blood Lines
•    Rocky Della Serra and Rick “The Weapon” X will team up to face Egos & Icons at Season Beatings. Egos & Icons need to make sure they do not look past IBL with their Boxing Day match on the horizon.
•    Even though they lost, IBL made an impressive showing at First Blood vs the ECCW Tag Champs. They will try to get their first win in ECCW as a team at The Next Chapter.
Also, new ECCW Owner Mike Sweetser and his NWA Canadian Champion Scotty Mac will be addressing the ECCW fans in regards to their actions back at Do or Die. Consequentially, El Phantasmo has vowed retaliation after Smac and Sweester’s actions. All this and more at The Next Chapter, December 4th at the RCC!

a NEW NWA Canadian Champion!

2010 has to be the Year of Sylum.  Sid Sylum coming off the heels of his victory of Brilliant Billy Suede and Kyle O'Riley, to win the NWA ECCW Heavyweight Championship has parlayed his fortunes into becoming the New NWA Canadian Heavyweight Champion.  Sylums first reign as champion brought an end to Scotty Mac's 725 day reign.  Mac's reign is the longest in Canadian Championship history.  Congrats to Mac for his long reign, but it is now Sylum's time to show the world what NWA ECCW is all about.

NWA ECCW's crowns a new Pacific Cup Tournament Champion

El Phantasmo Wins The Pacific Cup!

After a wild and unpredictable tournament full of surprises and upsets, El Phantasmo emerged as the 2009 Pacific Cup champion, defeating Azeem The Dream and the returning Rick The Weapon X in the three-way tournament final! The roads of all three men into the final of the 9th annual battle of the top junior heavyweights was varied between all three, with all roads leading to the final.

Phantasmo started his road to the Pacific Cup tournament final with a decisive victory over Alberta's "Superfly" Dan Myers, outsmarting the "Superfly" by feinting a frog splash, then leaping even further than before to splatter Myers with the frog splash for the victory! Phantasmo's opponent in round two was supposed to be Artemis Spencer, who made short work of former SuperGirls champion Nicole Matthews; however, in the course of the victory, Nicole's own prediction for Spencer also came true, as the NWA Canadian junior heavyweight champion suffered an injury to his left knee and could not continue past the first round. Over the shrieking protests of The Divine Prophet, Spencer was replaced by designated alternate Nick Price, who gave Phantasmo all he could handle in a fantastic contest, before Phantasmo caught him in an anklelock for the submission to get into the Pacific Cup final for the second straight year!

NWA Week in Review for Mar. 28th

In the infamous words of Poppa Cal, better late than never, the Alliance proudly brings to you this Week In Review for March 28th, 2009.

All thought a celestial down pour prevented the Alternative Wrestling Show from holding their 7th Anniversary Spectacular, the AWS still moves on. The big news from AWS is a crowning of a new Women's Championship. Already scheduled to participate in the tournament are "The New York Knockout" Nikki, Morgan, Carla Jade, Marissa Lopez, Erica D' Erico, Ellen Degenerate, Candice LaRae, Kittana Vera, and Aiden Riley, with three more names to be announced. Morgan and Erico work regularly for NWA Arizona's IZW. The rest are pretty regular of Southern California. But that isn't the only announcement for AWS as the Alternative Wrestling Show will be holding a show in Burbank, which is an alternative to their Rowland Heights location. (see what I did there.) The Burbank show is to be a part of the Hollywood Show Convention. And lastly the AWS will in fact hold the Anniversary Show at its home at the AWS on Sunday April the 19th.

At Ring Of Honor's "Take No Prisoneers" on April 4th, our worlds champion Blue Demon Jr. steps into Ring of Honor. Demon battles Nigel McGuinness, in an International Tag Team Match. McGuinness joins Claudio Castagnoli to battle Demon and Brent Albright. This will be the 3rd NWA Worlds Champion to appear in front of a ROH audience.

Speaking of wrestling Royalty the relationship with Jerry Lawler and NWA Main Event is in full bloom. Lawler's last appearance in NWA Main Event drew crowd of over 1300 in Kentucky.

Ultimate NWA has announced it will start running again and will be crowning new tag team champions.

NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution has stripped Tag Team Champion Rey Misterio for not being able to make events and the announcement will be made soon.

Lastly "In 2009, ECCW Pro-Wrestling will partner with SHARE Family & Community Services for the first Wrestling With Hunger event. Twenty wrestlers will take part in a 72 hour show in Port Coquitlam, BC with the goal of restocking the food bank shelves and set the world’s record for the longest wrestling show ever!" This is a great positive event for wrestling and I hope more NWA members follow suit.

ECCW Wrestles With Hunger

ECCW gives back to the community. In hopes of wrestling away hunger; Ice, The Devine Prophet, Nelson Creed, El Phantasmo, Jamie Diaz, Mike Dempsey, Red Money, Volt Vegas, Scott Steel, Manther, and others are going to put on a show on April 2nd thru April 5th. 20 Wrestlers, 3 Days, and 1 goal... 1 World Record.

In 2009, ECCW Pro-Wrestling will partner with SHARE Family & Community Services for the first Wrestling With Hunger event. Twenty wrestlers will take part in a 72 hour show in Port Coquitlam, BC with the goal of restocking the food bank shelves and set the world’s record for the longest wrestling show ever!

The event begins at 2pm on Thursday, April 2nd and wraps up at 2pm on Sunday, April 5th. During this time you can come to the event location - Hyde Creek Recreation Centre 1379 Laurier Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC - watch some wrestling, drop off canned goods for the food bank or make a cash donation.

We also invite you to attend the last two hours of Wrestling With Hunger - from noon to 2pm on Sunday, April 5th - where you will witness great wrestling action and the world record being set!

Keep checking back here on the website for blog and video updates from the event.

At The Alliance we salute the efforts of ECCW and Wrestling With Hunger and Wish them all the luck.

NWA ECCW crowns new champions.

Vancouver has long been the stomping grounds of Canada's finest, ECCW. And the past show was no different. ECCW's latest show created many questions, the first of which is why Sid Sylum, why? Nicole Matthews and Sylum were the Power Couple of ECCW. And as the stable Chill Town, held much of the gold in ECCW. However at the last show, the power couple is no more. Sylum turned on his lady, to help Veronica Vice regain the SuperGirls Championship and ending Nicole Mathews' Super Girls reigns which was the longest in ECCW History.

Artemis Spencer under the guidance of the Divine Prophecy has become the newest Canadian Junior Heavyweight Champion. It wasn't too long ago when Spencer had hit hard times. Losing a heated rivalry to former friend and tag team partner El Phantasmo, that resulted in Spencer being forced to remove his mask and giving up his persona as Halo. Spencer was able to defeat another former friend in Billy Suede. Spencer also laid waste to his friendship with Suede by allowing and joining his fellow members of the New Church in attacking Suede. Kyle O'Reilly was able to make the save.

In other ECCW news, the 2009 Pacific Cup Tournament has two more entrants. Azeem the Dream and Kyle O'Reilly have both qualified for the 3rd Annual Tournament. ECCW returns to the Bridgeview Hall in Surrey on Friday night, February 27th, and it'll be a bloody night, as Cremator finally gets his hands on Ice in a demented match of his own design - the Circle of Fear barbed wire match! Tickets are on sale now on ECCW.com!
