Is the NWA World Jr. Champion, Craig Classic, a Wanted Man?

Is there a price on the head of Craig Classic? Is the NWA World Junior Champion becoming a target of Junior Heavyweights around the world? Craig Classic, since winning the NWA World Jr. Championship has been jet-setting across the globe putting his Jr. Crown on the line. Coming off a huge victory, Classic has now defeated two former NWA World Jr. Champions. Classic this past weekend defeated "Mr. 630" Jerrelle Clark at I Believe XXX, Classic defeated. Classic defeated Tony Kozina earlier this year at a NWA Midwest show.
However, after the show, was a contract. A contract to defend the NWA World Jr. Champion against a former World Jr. Champion in a rival organization. In only a matter of days, Classic will defend his price against
TJ Mack, the former AWA World Tag Team with brother and friend of the Alliance Kirby Mack. TJ is also a former AWA World Light Heavyweight Champion. This match with take place at PWX on June 18th
When we talked to Craig Classic a few months back for Alliance Radio, Classic made it clear he would answer any challenge. The past few months, the NWA World Jr. Champion has defeated Lince Dorado (also stole his mask), Nick Impact in and won both the PRWA Puerto Rico Jr. and the IPW/PPW International Jr. Titles in Puerto Rico. Classic went to New Jersey and defeated Joey Spades and Colby Corino. It should be noted Classic has a schedule dating out to early 2012. No doubt about Classic is representing the NWA proudly, but for how much longer? Tony Kozina has demanded a rematch, Christopher Gray gets a shot at Classic upcoming at the next NWA Florida show, also defenses against Mike Jackson and a return to Japan are not to far away.

The Sheik Remains 1 Contender Through Series vs. Phil Shatter!

“In order to retain his status as No. 1 contender and receive a title shot at the NWA World title, The Sheik must not lose either match this weekend against NWA National Champion, The Universal Soldier, Phill Shatter.”
The message was clear: The NWA doesn’t want The Sheik anywhere near it’s Worlds Heavyweight Title.
Unfortunately for Trobich, The Sheik would indeed go on to defeat Shatter in both matches and solidify his position as the #1 contender and his right to a Worlds Heavyweight Title match. Did he win both matches by pinfall? No, but he did win both matches.
Ironically, it was Phil Shatter’s need to avenge his last loss to the notoriously violent “Middle Eastern Madman” that proved too much to contain.
NWA MidWest Xtreme Limit – Waukesha, WI - Feb. 4, 2011
On the 1st night of the series, Shatter attacked The Sheik with a vengeance. Pummeling the North American Champion with closed fists, repeatedly ignoring the Referee’s instruction to stop. This wasn’t a wrestling match, it was a fight, a brawl, an all out war between 2 of the top 3 singles wrestlers in the NWA. While The Sheik held his own against “The Universal Soldier”, giving as much as he received, it appeared as though this would not be “The Middle Eastern Madman’s” night. Until Shatter’s temper got the best of him and he physically assaulted the referee, tossing him half way across the ring in his quest for revenge. That was more than the ref would allow and he quickly called for the bell, disqualifying Shatter and awarding the victory to The Sheik.
NWA MidWest Supreme – Streator, IL - Feb. 5, 2011
The 2nd night saw much of the same, albeit with considerably more actual wrestling on display. The two champions went back and forth for more than 30 minutes with each man gaining the upper hand several times. The end came in confusion as The Sheik had the camel clutch hooked in. As the people were chanting “USA, USA” and “Shatter, Shatter”, Phil powered up and bulled Sheik backward into the corner trapping the Ref and squashing him. Shatter followed with a bulldog powerslam and went for the pin as the fans counted “1-2-3!” over and over. Shatter, realizing he was missing, went to wake the Ref. The Sheik reached into his trunks for something, quickly got to his feet, took a swing at Shatter, but missed. The National Champ attempted an atomic drop, but Sheik busted him in the head and they crashed to the canvas with The Sheik ending up in a pinning position. The, still groggy, Ref rolled over and made a very slow 3 count, awarding the match and solidifying the position of #1 contender to “The Sheik”.
When asked for comments, the combatants had the following to say:
Phil Shatter, NWA National Heavyweight Champion:
“Sheik! You may have been awarded the victories, but we both know that I beat you last night and tonight. So now you get your shot at the Worlds Heavyweight Title, Good Luck! Just remember, you cost me my last shot in Charlotte, by attacking the champ before the bell… Who’s to say I won’t be making an appearance at your title match? All’s fair in War, and make no mistake, WE ARE AT WAR!”
The Sheik, NWA North American Heavyweight Champion:
“HAHAHAHA, “NWA Golden Boy” Phil Shatter, you have proved, to the world, that The Sheik is the better man. You have proved, to the world, that The Sheik is true #1 contender. You have proved, to NWA and Bob Trobich, that Sheik is unstoppable. Now Sheik will prove, to the world, that I am the best, by claiming NWA Worlds heavyweight Title. ADAM PEARCE… I’M COMING FOR WHAT’S MINE!”

NWA World Jr. Champion Craig Classic heading towards a Tornado, twice!
NWA World Jr. Champion Craig Classic has already established himself as a major player in the National Wrestling Alliance in a very short time. Classic won the NWA World Jr. Championship by defeating Mike Quackenbush in November 2010 at the Pro Wrestling Fusion iPPV November Coming Fire. Since then, Classic has had successful defenses against Milo Beasley, Tommy Vandal, and even traveled to Puerto Rico to defeat Erik Scorpion. It was even announced with much anticipation that Classic would return to his home away from home in Japan to wrestle for ZERO1, by defending his championship against Munenori Sawa. But before Classic can appear in ZERO1 for their Tenth Anniversary Show, he must defeat another former champion, not once... but twice.
"Tornado" Tony Kozina became the NWA World Jr. Champion only after three full years in the business. Kozina has made his name all across the United States in true Territorial Fashion, spending time in Southern California, Washington and Vancover, moving to the Midwest, but really making every where he went, his home. Aside from training Kyle O'Riley, Kozina has been known for a long time being a true professional and elevating the talent he works with. But now, 11 years after defeating Vince Kaplack, Tony Kozina finds himself again in the underdog position, but this Friday and Saturday, Kozina finds himself with a wealth of opportunity. He only has to pin or submit Classic once to punch his ticket to ZERO1 and reclaim his past glory with the NWA. Craig Classic has to defeat the veteran to ensure he will be representing the World Jr. Championship in Japan. We'll find out soon, who will face Sawa.

The current reigning NWA Central States Champion Mark Sterling. Kevin has tasted gold before and now wants to satisfy the hunger that has been reawakened.
Also the HVW Heavyweight championship will be on the line when the Champion "The Tokyo Monster" Kahagas defends against "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt. Wyatt has been surfing a wave of impressive wins as of late. Wyatt has proven once again that he is a force to be reckoned with and he intends to add the HVW Title to his ever growing collection of Championships.
What started as a respectful match between s "the Human Wrecking Ball" Pete Madden and Super Castladi 13 was ended abruptly when Alexandre Rudolph along with Sadie Blaze rushed the ring and brutally attacked Madden. Rudolph was out to make a name for himself by taking out the STL wrestling legend when Kory Twist made his way to the ring and confronted Rudolph. Just a few seconds of exchanges were seen before both Rudolph and Blaze retreated from the ring leaving Twist standing tall and wanting to return to wrestling after 4 years to face Rudolph man to man in the ring. Twist commented that if Rudolph wants to try and make name for himself at the expense of others it will not start with Pete Madden.

NWA Brew City presents Fall Frenzy Sept. 17th 2010
In the perfect storm of violence and pain, two destructive paths will touch down on West Allis Wisconsin, this Friday Night at 7:30PM. Awesome Kong, easily the most feared woman wrestler ever sets her sights on the Brew City Women Champion Stacy Shadows. Kong strikes fear into most men, let alone any woman she faces. Stacy Shadows will have more than her work cut out for her if she wishes to remain champion. And in the Main Event of Brew City's Fall Frenzy, North American Champion the Sheik will defend his championship against the Sadist. 13 Warriors have felt the defeat of The Sheik, but all he has faced have suffered pain. The Sheik was even responsible for knocking the NWA World Champion out at the NWA Legends Fan Fest. And although the Sheik is looking forward to his eventual NWA World Championship match, he still has to stand toe to toe against the man who enjoys pain, the Sadist. Maybe the only man who will enjoy the pain the Sheik delivers, this match is set to explode, Friday Night in West Allies, Wisconsin. Be there!

A Letter to Phil Shatter-- By Adam Pearce
Poor Phill Shatter.
Now that a few days have passed and you’ve had time to reflect on your little ‘incident’ last weekend in Charlotte, I thought it most appropriate to address you and your recent video warning to me. You told me to ‘watch over my shoulder’ that ‘you’d be everywhere I turn’.
How incredibly stupid are you?
Did you think that your words were somehow going to strike fear into my heart and force me to cower at the very mention of your name? Did you think I’d run and hide and live afraid that BIG BAD SHATTER was going to hurt me?
You’re a fool. You try to play mind control with the man that wrote the book on it. That’s why I haven’t responded until now. Because my words aren’t hollow. My words are to be feared. My words bring action, Shatter.
I’m a connected man. In some 15 years in this industry I’ve made friends and business partners, and every single one of them with purpose. I’m calculating, Shatter. I’m making moves before moves need to be made, because I’ve got to stay one step ahead. And that’s why I’ve entrusted men like Jim Cornette, Larry Sweeney, C. Edward Vander Pyle, and Nick Bockwinkel. Oh. And Jeff G. Bailey.
That’s right, Shatter. THAT Jeff G. Bailey.
Haven’t put it together, yet? You think that Kimo and Bailey laid waste to you for no reason? Think again.
Now, I’m far too classy to put a bounty out on someone. I like to think of it as a ‘workplace incentive’. You can call it whatever you want. I call it ‘dealing with a nuisance’. I call it ‘shutting you up’, Phill Shatter. And so far, it’s worked.
I’m sure we’ll meet again. And where ever it is, be it in Texas for Ken Taylor, in the Midwest for Rico Mann, or right back in Charlotte, next time after you lose to the modern day legend of the NWA, I do hope you’ll keep that big mouth of yours a little more tight-lipped.
Who is looking over their shoulder now?
