“NWA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FROM HOLLYWOOD”
OFFERS EMPLOYMENT TO ALL LOCKED-OUT NFL PLAYERS
Top-Rated Professional Wrestling TV Series
Gives All Current NFL Players a Chance to Get Back In the Game
LOS ANGELES, CA, June 16, 2011 – With the lockout between the National Football League’s owners and players still in effect, the L.A. based television series NWA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FROM HOLLYWOOD extends an open invitation to all currently locked-out NFL players to join them as professional wrestlers.
With current NFL players like Cincinnati Bengals superstar Chad Ochocinco venturing into the world of professional bull riding and Minnesota Vikings’ Ray Edwards trying his hand(s) at boxing, the world of pro wrestling seems like a perfect fit for these athletes, who are all revved up with nowhere to go. And, as history proves, it might just be the best move.
“There is a long list of players who’ve made the jump from the gridiron to the squared circle of pro wrestling,” says 3-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce. “NFL and AFL greats like Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White, Kevin Greene, Bronko Nagurski, Wahoo McDaniel, and many others became pro wrestlers – so why not a Hines Ward, Ndamakong Suh, Michael Vick, Plaxico Burress, or Ben Roethlisberger?” Pearce adds, “It’s also an excellent way to keep them out of jail. Or worse.”
Professional wrestling has long been a spot for pro athletes to make cameo appearances, from Muhammad Ali to Karl Malone to Mike Tyson, but Pearce wants to make it clear that this is a chance at something more. “I’m tired of sports celebs getting into the ring for what’s playfully referred to as ‘sports entertainment’. That’s not what this is about. This is good, old-fashioned American pro wrestling. And if you wanna step into the ring with me or anyone else from the National Wrestling Alliance – you’d better be ready to go. This ain’t some pretty boy pose with flashing lights and fireworks. This is about kicking some ass. And there are quite a few NFL players that would fit the bill nicely. Believe that.”
Interested NFL players are told that the door is open and info regarding applying for a spot on the roster can be found at the www.NWAHollywood.com website.

4 Years Ago Today, the NWA and TNA end its 5 Year Agreement
“Ah camera man, I’m glad you are here,” said by the then independent wrestler who is synonymous with excellence, Bryan Danielson. He would continue with “I have a message for the NWA and all of the NWA fans. I have beaten all of the best wrestlers in the World; I've beaten Samoa Joe, Jushin Liger, Minoru Tanaka. I have beaten everyone, everywhere. I am the best. And now I am coming after the NWA World Heavyweight Championship." It all started off so innocently. The NWA World Heavyweight Championship along with the NWA World Tag Team Championships had become somewhat exclusive to Total Non-Stop Action. TNA Wrestling and come to an agreement to lease the NWA Properties. Was this the lament of a man with bravado or was this the beginning to something none of us were expecting. Only on NWA Anniversary Shows and a rare NWA event the World Title on occasion would be defended outside of a TNA venue. But even then, the World Titles became increasingly more difficult for NWA Promoters to book. Around the same time there was speculation that TNA was growing frustrated by the demands of the NWA and even stopped referring to the Legendary 10lbs of Gold as the NWA Worlds Title and simply would call it the TNA World Title. Things changed dramatically on on this date, four years ago. The NWA Titles would appear for the last time on TNA and the NWA would regain its freedom.
May 13th 2007. Prior to the TNA pay per view Sacrifice, via a YouTube video, the Executive Director for the National Wrestling Alliance Robert K. Trobich announces that the NWA and TNA have ended their 5 year professional relationship and that the NWA has officially striped both Christian Cage and Team 3D of the NWA Worlds Heavyweight and Tag Team Champions, respectively.
The fallout of this announcement would launch dozens of videos on YouTube of wrestlers from around the world asking for their opportunity to be included into the tournament to crown a new NWA Worlds Champion. Danielson would echo his sentiments about his desire to be champion in a second video. “I want, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. There are some who say it doesn't mean much anymore. That's a lie. That belt has more history than any belt in the history of pro-wrestling.”
Canadians Nelson Creed and Dru Onyx, Australia’s Bobby Jo Marshall, Mexico’s Nicho El Millonare along with names across the United States; Damien Wayne out of the Mid-Atlantic, Chad Pharam out of Georgia, Chance Prophet out of West Virgina, Aaron Aguilera and Adam Pearce out of Southern California, Karl Anderson out of the Midwest, and even Awesome Kong, the dominant woman’s wrestler out of Japan.
The finals of the tournament would come down to four men, Adam Pearce, Brent Albright, Claudio Castagnoli, and Bryan Danielson. After a career threatening injury Danielson was replaced by Pearce. And Pearce would go on to defeat Albright and go on to defend the title 33 times in a twelve month period. Many would believe that this would be the return of NWA.

Tag Team Wrestling may not be too far gone...
Tag Team wrestling is a lost art. Matter of fact, at one point it was dead.
Now, sure, the WCW and WWF(E) at times would throw us a bone and give us a tag team match, sometimes even for the titles of the respective promotions, but more often than not, it was 2 guys who were getting pushes as singles attractions being thrown in together to further a few storylines at once, or because 'creative' didn't know what else to do with them. Thes days of the co-hesive, long term tag team seemed to be gone. That's not to say that there weren't a number of good teams in either company, there was, and we are talking late 90's on. But no importance was placed on the divisions, and teams were allowed to stay together long enough to get over as a team, and the division as viable. And, let me just say I am not one who revels at the brilliance of a Hardy/E&C/Dudley match. 1 was pretty good, but that has been blown way out proportion. Give me the Fantastics/Sheepherders any day.
In the last few years, WWE has teased a tag team division revival, only to release most of the wrestlers who would be comprising the division a few months later.(They just pulled the plug on Caylon Croft, killing the Dude Busters) TNA at times has shown a deep and brilliant division with the two best teams of the day in MCMG and Beer Money. Show stealing matches most every time they step out of the curtain, yet TNA does not exploit this enough. And Ink Inc. needs to go away. ROH has a fairly solid division, with what I consider the best tag team in the last 5 years, the Briscoes, but they may be on there way out. You also have Claudio and Hero, which is like Nikita Koloff and Barry Windham being a tag team. Booked to be dominant, but you know that they are both destined for singles runs, at the core that is what they are. The list goes on in ROH, with the likes of the Wolves, The All-Nighters, and now on spot shows Benjamin and Haas, another team while good, is not as good as made to believe... together anyways. That's just me.
The NWA has some good teams that compete for the various members and affiliates. Brown and Walker formed a de-facto New age LOD, stormed to the titles, and held them for what seemed like a century... Only problem was is that they never defended the titles. The NWA might as well had just had vacant tag titles. Thankfully a far more active team, Dark CIty Fight Club recently dethroned the Skullcrushers(Brown and Walker) on a NWA Midwest show to become the new champs. You have other teams in the mix as well, like the RockNES Monsters out in SoCal, and various teams down in Anarchy like Talent and Money. But by not booking the champions, not securing dates, the promoters of the NWA let their titles lay dormant for far too long and I actually had almost forgotten a board recognized division existed. Hopefully, with new holders this will correct it's self.
The days of the Roadies, Midnights, Rockers, Rock and Rollers, Brainbusters, and Fabs may be over, but there are some bright spots out there that show that if given enough time, the art of tag team wrestling can thrive again.
Now, enough of the ranting... With my love of tag team wrestling now evident, Let me go into a little diddy here about an Annual Tag Team Tournament held in honor of one of the great tandems, The Anderson Brother's Classic, presented by George South and his semi-active, mostly old-timers nostalgia promotion the EWA. South has been putting this event on since 2004. It has featured unknown youngsters he trains, most notably his son George Jr., and legends who used to call the region home in the days of MACW and JCP.
The tournament has had participation from the actual Anderson Family, as Gene's widow and son, Brad, have been part of the shows. Brad has even participated in the event, having one the first one with George South Sr, and being a special guest ref in the 3rd edition. Brad you may remember from his days in the old Pacific Northwest region during it's curtain call days, and his time jobbing in WCW as both himself and the pink clad masked Zan Panzer, as well as his participation in the NWA Charlotte shows. And, he looks a lot like Brutus Beefcake.
Now, while this is not a NWA sanctioned event, the fact that it is in honor of a team who is noted for being an NWA team, a former NWA championship team, and stars in both MACW/JCP and Georgia Championship Wrestling, two of the most known NWA territories of the day, that should satisfy the NWA connection. And the fact that attending, and taking part in the festivities was NWA Executive Director, Bob Trobich.
In the past, the offspring of past stars has been a big part of the event. Joining Brad Anderson(Gene) in the tournament records have been the likes of Dyan Eaton(Beautiful Bobby),George South, Jr.(George Sr.) and The EWA has been known to re-hash several things that fans of the southeast old days would recognize at various points. They have used the Thunderfoots, have used Jimmy Valliant and dubbed a new Valliant Brothers team, they helped push Richie Steamboat along, Cruel Connection, Masked Superstar, and countless others have been used, and if not themselves, the gimmick rip-offs have been done. Ricky Morton has taken on so many new partners as the New Rock And Roll Express while on these shows(EWA) that it is hard to keep count.(in total, with all the indy shows he does, there has been about 5000 'new' Express'). And this year, Reid Flair, son of the Naitch, took home the trophy, with his 2nd generation partner George Jr.
The tradition of the business and the families are something that South holds near and dear, and he promotes his shows with that in mind more often than not. In the just the ABC Tournament it's self, father son duos have appeared such as The Souths(winners of ABC 3) and The Eatons (Bobby and Dylan) and Bob and Brad Armstrong. And the tournament is a good way to get the nostalgia pop and hide the age and lack of athleticism some legends may be saddled with. And George does a good job of getting some young Indy guys, his students or not, spots on these shows and a chance to learn from these guys as well as people like the Barbarian, Jake Roberts, etc.,
It's good to see a promotion, which honestly if it were any smaller would be uninteresting and would not garner my attention, give tribute to a great team from the past, try to usher in the next generation of wrestlers cut in that familiar mold, and to tag team wrestling in general. EWA in that aspect goes beyond a nostalgia only show, and George seems to have found the right formula to mix it all together.
And just to satisfy the NWA aspect again, Bob Trobich took an active role in the tournament when he stepped in an told the Assassins(hardly the original, which is not a bad thing in 2010) that is they continues in the tournament, and ended up winning they would have to un-mask in order to accept the award. To which they decided to not continue any further....It's all of the sudden 1985 again... and in small doses, I love it.
For pictures and results form this years event, as well as the previous ones, you can go to midatlanticgateway.com and look around for the ABC, and you can link up to South's own website through the gateway and check out other EWA events.

Sheik's Camp Makes Statement about attack on NWA World Champion Adam Pearce
SHEIK’S CAMP MAKES STATEMENT
ABOUT THE INFAMOUS CHARLOTTE INCIDENT
Tampa, Florida - August 11, 2010
Sunday August 8th was the day The Sheik decided to make a point. To show the world that he’s tired of being disrespected by the NWA and tired of being denied a match with the Worlds Heavyweight Champion. He made that point the only way he knows how…VERY, VERY, VIOLENTLY!
Adam Pearce paid the price, but the true culprits are those infidels, Bob Trobich and the NWA Board of Directors. They are the cause of the Knot on the head of Adam Pearce. They are the reason the Middle Eastern Madman has taken matters into his own, blood thirsty, hands.
For over a year The Sheik has been denied his destiny. A denial that started when The Blue Demon refused the Sheik a title match, claiming he wasn’t worthy. Sheik’s response was to conquer Florida, The MidWest, and ultimately the North American Continent itself, but still he is denied.
Next, the NWA holds a “Future Legends” tournament and invites many top contenders including the National Heavyweight Champion, Phil Shatter, but where is The Sheik? Why is The North American Champion denied? Why is the most dominant and feared man in the NWA, again, insulted? The truth is clear. The NWA Board of Directors is protecting its Worlds Heavyweight Champion and in doing so, keeping the title out of the reach of The Sheik.
NO MORE! The NWA and it’s World Champion must answer to The Sheik now. Pearce will force The NWA Board of Directors to make the match, and by doing so, will seal his own fate. The Sheik WILL destroy Adam Pearce. The Sheik WILL become NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. The Sheik WILL realize his destiny and Rule the Wrestling World!

NWA World Championship Match is the 23rd Most Important Moment of 2010
Have you checked out the most recent issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated? Once it gets delivered to your mail box or you pick it up at your nearest newstand, grocery store, or where ever you procure your wrestling magazines make sure you flip to page 66. The 2010 Midyear Report list 50 of Top Stories of 2010. But what will stare at you is #23. Which would be the story of "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce regaining the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship title at NWA New Beginnings in Charlotte, North Carolina. You remember the date don't you? March 14th. After previously losing to the National Champion Phil Shatter a month prior, Adam Pearce stepped into a match with two of the NWA's finest. But lets go back a little further...
October 25th, 2008 Mexico City, Mexico with a hostile crowd booing his every action and Pearce was taking everything Blue Demon Jr. could give him. And to a chorus of cheers, Blue Demon mounted a comeback. It wasn't a bulldog that would do in Pearce, nor an arm breaker. It was an illegal Scorpion Death Lock, that's right. Pearce's arm was underneath the rope, which usually would break the hold. The referee didn't not break the hold. Adam Pearce was robbed. What in any other NWA ring would have been a disqualification for the challenger, Blue Demon Jr. was awarded the title.
Pearce waited patiently for his re-match. The NWA Showcase, came and gone and Pearce's pleas go ignored. The Big Event in Tyler Texas and Pearce's challenge is ignored. After defeating another former champion Brent Albright, Pearce's challenge goes ignored.
Pearce having a re-match clause, winning a Number 1 contender's match, and evening adding the NWA British Commonwealth Championship, to earn additional consideration all accumulated on March 14th. Even though Pearce wasn't giving a one on one match up with Blue Demon, even though the cards were stacked against him with a hungry Phil Shatter added to the match up, Adam Pearce did what nobody else could do. Adam Pearce took the NWA Worlds Championship off of Blue Demon Jr. and made history for the third time. On behalf of the National Wrestling Alliance, Blue Demon Jr., "The Universal Soldier" Phil Shatter, Adam Pearce, Greg Price, the fine folks of Charlotte who witnessed history, the NWA Championship Committee, NWA Executive Director Robert K. Trobich, and the Legendary 10lbs of Gold and Leather, I thank you Pro Wrestling Illustrated, for recognizing the importance of Adam Pearce's 3rd Reign to the world of pro-wrestling and the legend that match up will forever leave.

Thank You Bart!
March 23rd, 2002. The birth of the Alternative Wrestling Show would come with a co-promoted event with Fuerza Mexicana de Lucha Libre. The launch came at a very competitive time in Southern California Wrestling, active wrestling promotions at the time were Xtreme Pro Wrestling, Ultimate Pro Wrestling, Revolution Pro, Empire Wrestling Federation, World Pro Wrestling, West Coast Wrestling Alliance, Golden State Championship Wrestling, Car-Consumer Pro Wrestling, and seemingly more and more promotions opening up every day. The first event featured a total of six matches. "The Hardcore Kidd" Aaron Aguilera defeated King Jackal. B-Boy defeated Lil' Cholo. Profeta & Dr. Muerte defeated Principe Unlimited & Acero Dorado. Essa Rios bested Piloto Sucida. And in the Main Event, La Parka teaming with Shocker defeated Super Boy and Capitian Oro. A pretty impressive first showing for Bart. The year would be 2005 when Bart's Alternative Wrestling Show would join NWA Pro Wrestling along with the Inoki Dojo. The AWS would host the tournament to crown the first ever NWA Heritage Heavyweight Champion. After over a hundred events and a little over seven years of promoting events, Bart Kaptizke has decided to close the AWS Store and the Alternative Wrestling Show. What Bart has given to the wrestling fans of Southern California will continue to impact this area for years to come, be it something as simple as merchandise, a venue to train, or a venue to host a show. The things Bart has done for this scene are both tangible and intangible. Everyone from Alliance-Wrestling.com would extend our deepest gratitude to Bart. The last event from AWS will be this Saturday 7:30pm and you should make plans to attend this event. The Finale from AWS will feature over 120 Wrestlers in a Three Ring Battle Royal. Also scheduled are title defenses for Johnny Paradise, Peter Avalon, and the Ballard Brothers.
Here is the official statement from the NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich:
On Monday of this week, I spoke to NWA Worlds Champion Adam Pearce for Alliance Radio. The interview was about several topics involving the National Wrestling Alliance, but also focuses quite a bit on Pearce's upcoming defenses in SoCal Pro Wrestling and Millennium Pro Wrestling. Adam also shares his gratitude for Bart and AWS. If you'd like to listen follow the link http://www.blogtalkradio.com/alliance-wrestling. Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the great job that Lalo Ramirez did talking to Bart on Empire Wrestling Radio Saturday. You can still find the show here http://kcaaradio.celestrion.net/kcaa-podcasts/wrestling/20100612.html. Check it out, it is a great listen and gives you a little bit of history of SoCal.

Here is the official statement from the NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich:
“The National Wrestling Alliance would like to congratulate Bart Kapitzke on his incredible run at AWS as a part of the NWA family. In honor of his attempt to close his operations with a record setting Battle Royal we would like to announce that all retired professional wrestlers are allowed to participate in one battle royal event per calendar year without losing their retired status.”

Alliance Editorial: What's going on in North Carolina?
With in a matter of months Charlotte, North Carolina has become a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling when it comes to the National Wrestling Alliance. For years Charlotte was known as the home of the 4 Horsemen or Flair Country, but in more recent times has become the physical office of the NWA by way of Bob Trobich, the executive director. In what once was a hotbed for Jim Crocket Promotions and Mid-Atlantic Wrestling before that made Charlotte a regular stop for the mighty NWA. And the fans rejoiced with it was announced in 2008 that JD Costello and Jay Joyce would bring live wrestling back to Charlotte. And after half a dozen shows, a bunch of broken promises, and wrestlers complaining of non-payment NWA Charlotte collapsed on top of itself.
After months of no NWA action, Greg Price had come to terms with the NWA to launch his new efforts in conjunction with his Legends Festivals, NWA New Beginnings, which announced a monthly show starting on Valentine's day. Shortly after Price's announcement, Costello start popping off about a return for NWA Charlotte, which would mean that the NWA would have two promotions in Charlotte along with three more promotions promoting the NWA in North Carolina: NWA Carolinas, NWA Mid-Atlantic, and NWA Fusion affiliate: NWA Warzone, for a total of five separate NWA promotions in North Carolina.
The biggest announcement from Costello's group came December 25th when he announced via the NWA Charlotte website (the cached version of NWA Charlotte), said that the first event of the New Year is scheduled for January 23, 2010 at Metrolina Expo Center, Charlotte. The site also announced that Costello and Joyce were joining a NWA Superpower with Bill Behrens, Bob Trobich and Slim Baucom. However this was all smoke and mirrors, Behrens had mentioned that his words were taken out of context and now the NWA Charlotte site redirects to CWA, a non NWA wrestling promotion.
So what is going on in the NWA, in regards to Charlotte? Is there a NWA Superpower or is this much ado about nothing? It is becoming more apparent that NWA Charlotte is even more dead in December of 2009 as it was in July of 2009. But the good news is the NWA isn't dead in Charlotte. From all reports I've seen, this deal with Trobich, Behrens, and Baucom is real. Apparently Trobich will be promoting the events while Behrens will be booking the events. This will make Bill quite the busy guy, producing for both NWA Anarchy and NWA Main Event. And if we can believe any of the quotes from NWA Charlotte's page, Bob Trobich is interested in producing a National Television program right from Charlotte, complete with National Titles being represented on its shows.
NWA New Beginnings will also be producing live events and plan to have the NWA National Champion on their monthly offerings. There is also talk with Worlds Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon Jr. debuting in Charlotte. And with New Beginnings already announcing talents like Phil Shatter, Chase Stevens, Caprice Coleman, Mr. Mid-Alantic Damien Wayne, Zack Salvation, the "Man Scout" Jake Manning, Caleb Konley, Josh Magnum, and Brad Attitude, NWA New Beginnings will bring the goods.
All the Super Power talk is a much ado about nothing. Neither promotion has ran a single card yet so any number of things can happen. The cynic in me knows that wrestling promoters often make huge grandiose promises and rarely deliver. NWA New Beginnings should benefit for the good will that Greg Price has earned through out the years promoting the NWA Legend Fan Fest. If the announced roster remains the same when New Beginnings opens its doors, the fans in Charlotte should certainly be there. NB will be fine. I'm not entirely convinced that Trobich will be as successful. Obviously adding Bill Behrens to the mix lends a lot of credibility. I'm not sure what role, if any Slim Baucom will have. I would be surprised to see this fledgling promotion instantly get television and be successful. I do hope the new project will take off and wish the best of luck to this new group and New Beginnings.

NWA Charlotte emerges as a Super Power.

December 25, 2009 (Charlotte, NC) Charlotte sports businessman and promoter JD Costello announces that he, along with Jay Joyce, have joined forces with the NWA on a national level to create a "Super Power of NWA Professional Wrestling" effective immediately.
This new "NWA dream team" consists of Bob Trobich, Executive Director of the NWA, David “Slim” Baucom, NWA owner of North and South Carolina territories, legendary promoter and NWA owner of the Georgia territory, Bill Behrens, JD Costello and Jay Joyce.
“Merging our brand with the national NWA is a dream come true," said Costello. "We have emerged as a hybrid national and regional super power that spells long-term success for the NWA. And there's not a better place than Charlotte, NC to call home! The fans have shown that they believe again and support our product. We're taking the momentum created by NWA Charlotte and blasting off into a new and exciting future.”
“Everybody knows the challenges that we have faced this year with NWA Charlotte,” says Costello. “Bringing these great professional wrestling minds together under one umbrella lays solid foundation for the return of wrestling to Charlotte."
Wrestling fans in Charlotte will now have the ultimate monthly opportunity to watch the top NWA wrestling talent mixed with the best regional independent wrestlers. “The NWA enjoys our relationship with JD Costello and Jay Joyce,” said NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich. “They revitalized NWA wrestling in Charlotte after 25 years of it being dormant. Our goal was to always have the NWA represented here in Charlotte. Based on their incredible success, we can continue this goal by bringing in the NWA National Champions and having those national belt titles right here in Charlotte! Our plans are to tape for national television right here in Charlotte to spread the NWA brand to a new, emerging audience of professional wrestling fans.”
Monthly shows begin on January 23, 2010 at the Metrolina Expo Center. Further dates will be released right after the holidays.
“The first show on January 23rd is booked and will be a dynamite return of NWA wrestling in Charlotte,” says Costello. “Fans know these names from their exposure through NWA Charlotte and the exciting style of NWA wrestling will pick up and fill the Metrolina Expo once again.”
The NWA shows will be family friendly, fast paced, full of well-known NWA names and talent, and focused on building a long-term presence back in Charlotte.
Ticket prices and first show information for January 23, 2010 will be announced right after the holidays, along with a new website, blog, Facebook and Twitter site so fans all over the region can quickly get up-to-speed with this exciting new NWA initiative.
“I urge all NWA Charlotte fans to embrace our new NWA venture,” said Costello. “It will still be the same NWA wrestling experience that you have come to expect from us here in Charlotte. Nobody can duplicate or replicate this level of wrestling or professional presentation that will launch on January 23, 2010! This is the real deal.”

Larry Goodman's notes from NWA Charlotte
As reported by Larry Goodman and a hat tip to Khrisdogg, it is being announced that NWA Charlotte will be working in conjunction with NWA Fan Fest.
"The show opened with J.D. Costello and Executive Director of the NWA Bob Trobich in the ring. Trobich announced an NWA World Heavyweight Title Match for Charlotte in late May or early June - Champion Blue Demon vs. Adam Pearce. Costello said it would be the first NWA world title match to take place in Charlotte in 19 years and potentially, the first ever NWA title change in Charlotte. Costello also announced a working relationship with Greg Price and his NWA Legend’s Convention that will involve shows on August 8 and 9 at the Coliseum. Costello said it would be a tribute to NWA Mid-Atlantic to give an indication of the caliber of legends."
Goodman also reports that "Last night’s show was another television taping with Lodi and Tim Dixon doing commentary. The company is looking at running a 30 minute weekly television show in Charlotte when they are able to obtain a suitable sponsor…J.T. Talent (NWA Anarchy), B.J Hancock (APW) and Brett Wolverton (announcer for UCW Greenville and APW) and Dan Masters (announcer for SAW and World-1 South) were in the house."
Lastly National Champion Phil Shatter was awarded the NWA Mid-Atlantic Heritage Championship after defeating Larry Zbyszko and punching former Heritage Champion Babby Doll. However Shatter handed the belt over to Jeff Lewis for an undisclosed amount of money and earned his way back into the Charlotte US Title Tournament.

NWA goes south of the border...

As posted on the NWA Forums, Box y Lucha (the premiere boxing and wrestling magazine of Mexico) is reporting that NWA Director David Marquez announced today that Blue Demon Jr. has been named the President of NWA Mexico who will have their offices in Guadalajara & Monterrey. Marquez wants Demon to have a working [relationship] along with EMLL but not a total working agreement just a deal where talent can be shared along with using independent contractors giving them the space they need to work wherever else they want. NWA Mexico will also use the same rules as the other NWA territories but there is a question about the NWA titles that are currently in Mexico controlled by EMLL, which the agreement with EMLL will most likely entail. Supposedly this has been in the works for 6 months so we will see what happens in the future.
David Marquez added "Yes, this is in fact true. I've been working with Demon and Trobich on offices in Mexico. I am pleased that we've come to terms and that the NWA name [will] once again shine in Mexico. Demon has showed me that he has the right people in place and is in good standings with people all over his country (not to mention his ties to the Coca Cola Co.) A formal announcement is on its way from Trobich's Office soon."
David also reported that "With the NWA brand being represented in Mexico and Puerto Rico, our Champions will be facing a lot of new talent."
